Improvements in and relating to bean snippers for cutting off the ends of bean pods
Реферат: 863,495. Topping and tailing bean pods. CHISHOLM-RYDER CO. Inc. Oct. 21, 1958 [March 13, 1958], No. 33648/58. Class 28 (2). The ends of beans in a rotated inclined drum protrude through wavy slots 13 in the drum surface, and are cut off by diverging knife edges 20, Fig. 4, pressing on the drum periphery. The knives 19 are supported on a pipe 41 alongside the drum by means of a linkage, Fig. 3, in which fluid pressure, supplied to a flexible pipe 43 inside the pipe 41, moves a small piston 48 downwards to press on a link 38 whereby a linked rod 36 pulls down on and rocks the knife 19 about its pivot 23 to urge the knife towards the drum but restrained by the ball-ended rod 26. The drum is subdivided by internal discs with large axial holes to distribute the beans to each section. U.S.A. Specification 2,114,730 is referred to.
