A pipe fitting for joining two or more pipes is provided with at least one pipe-receiving end 2 in which a deformable sealing ring 7, e.g. of rubber, is partly introduced and compressed against a bearing face 6 and about the pipe by an inturned lip 4 on a collar 3 screwed on to the fitting, the ring 7 having associated with it at least one metallic electrical conducting ring which consists of, or is in addition to, a flat metallic ring 9 located in a plane at right-angles to the axis of the fitting between the lip 4 and the ring 7, electrical conductivity between the pipe and fitting being provided when the collar 3 is tightened by the conducting ring 8, Fig. 1, or, if the conducting ring consists of the ring 9, through internal axially disposed lugs 11, Fig. 6, forced by the sealing ring 7 into electrical contact with the pipe periphery. The ring 8 may be of strip V-section, as shown, or of solid triangular section and may be loosely fitted or moulded on to the ring 7. The ring 9 has an axial flange bounding the outer periphery of the ring 7. Specification 901,991 is referred to.
