Acetylene lamps.-The body of the lamp, which is shaped as shown in Fig. 3 to permit the use and attachment by means of a band clip of the parabolic reflector and combustion chamber g, comprises the water chamber a<4>, the gas holding and filtering chamber a<2>, and the detachable carbide chamber b. The bottoms c, b<5> of the filtering and carbide chambers are removable, and plate or cover b<9> is pressed upon the carbide by a spring b<10>. The water supply is controlled by a valve h, actuated, within limits determined by stops, by rotating a cap or button d<5> which is graduated so that the position of the valve is indicated by a fixed pointer j. When the valve h is opened the water trickles down the wire d<6> and through the perforated tube b<7> to the carbide, which may be in the form of a cartridge held and prevented from rattling by spring clips or packed around the tube as shown. The gas generated traverses the hole c<2> and the filtering-material in the chamber a<2> to the burner f.
