Dynamos, regulating. - In dynamo - electric generators, particularly such as are used for lighting trains, a disk a, Figs. 1 and 2, is fixed to the armature shaft b and has a scroll formed on it of inner and outer circles c, d, concentric with the shaft, and a connecting spiral e, a slipper or pin f engaging with the scroll and actuating the brushrocker g or like device when the direction of rotation of the armature is reversed. The scroll e is fitted with points n, n similar in function to those employed on a railway track. The point o is keyed to a lever p<1>, which carries at one end a, weight p<2>, and at the other end is connected through a link q to a pivoted arm n<1> carrying the point n. The centrifugal force of the weight p<2> acts in opposition to a spring n<2> to turn the points out of the path of the pin f. The pin f is carried by a lever h pivoted at one end to the casing and at the other end to a link k pivoted to the brush-rocker g. When the brush-rocker has reached the end of its travel, a spring pin r attached to the frame slips into a slot or depression s in the rocker to move it a slight additional distance.
