Construction of continuous welded rail track - involves string of two-storey flat wagons carrying overhead gantry crane which avoids construction of temporary track
Реферат: Railway construction involves laying sleepers and continuous welded rails onto a new track without the need for first laying an auxiliary track. All of the elements needed for construction are first loaded onto a string of flat wagons with two floors, the lower one being used for the rails arranged lengthwise side-by-side, and the upper one being removable and used for the sleepers which are arranged transversely. Each truck has along the lengthwise edges of the upper floor a rail on which a gantry crane can slide. At the front of the string of wagons is a similar wagon whose upper floor remains empty. Once in position, sleepers are placed on this floor by the gantry crane and are then placed on the track by a second crane. When sufficient sleepers have been laid, two rails are then withdrawn and put in place.
