A watchcase 5 is secured in a hole in a wristband 1 by member 12 which frictionally engages with the back member 8 of the watchcase. In another embodiment, Fig. 5, the watchcase is provided with flanges 37 which form recesses 35 in which a unit band of plastics material can be snapped into place. The wrist band may be formed from wire gauze, Fig. 1, and the hole formed by flattening the band 1 to form segments 3 and then cutting out the hole 4. Alternatively as shown in Fig. 3, the band is formed from plastics link elements 26a, 26b joined by relatively thinner arcuate shaped connecting walls 27, one of which is a flat portion with a hole 25. Decorative parts 22a, 22b may be fitted permanently or detachably on the elements 26a, 26b.
