Реферат: In heavy-duty lathes, a considerable expenditure of force is necessary to tighten a workpiece in the chuck if the tightening is effected manually by means of a hand chuck key. To facilitate the tightening operation, the invention creates a hydraulic tightening device with a tightening tool (5) suspended on a tool holder (17-23) and having a hydraulic motor (6). The hydraulic motor is fastened to an angle support (7) to which an actuating handle (10) is additionally attached. The tightening tool is suspended in such a way that a chuck key (9) turned by the hydraulic motor can be moved to the counterpart (3) at the chuck (1) and can be swung away laterally from the chuck. The tool holder (17-23) hinders neither the operation during turning nor the loading and unloading of the lathe from above, e.g. by means of a crane. <IMAGE>
