Improvements in Mechanism for the Manufacture of Seamless Tubes.

Rolling. - A divided adjustable guide for step, gap, or pilger rolls comprises a hollow oblong divided fork A curved to takethe sweep of the rolls and moving in a frame Band bracket D fixed to the housing F, the halves being held together or allowed to open by cotters C. In modifications, cam-surfaces moving either vertically or horizontally are used to manipulate the fork. The bracket D may be integral with the housings, or may have cushion springs arranged on the bolts E instead of being attached as shown. The housings may be designed so as to make the frame B unnecessary.
