The invention concerns a mechanism for cutting planar formations, in particular for cutting printing products, with a circulating cell wheel, whose takes up each compartment a planar formation. A such, from the DE-PS Nr.308330 well-known mechanism exhibits a only one stationarily s arranged knife, which cuts the parts of in this inserted books, about a turning steel, understanding radially over the compartments, similarly. Thus only in a certain and closely limited place at the extent of the Zellenrades and also only one cut is cut is accomplished after the other one. During the suggested mechanism a cutting process is to take place at the same time in several compartments. For the solution of this task the invention consists essentially of that in each compartment an abbey! firm Gegenmesser and a bewegllches Schneidmesser are arranged, for whose movement a running along mechanism is intended, a cam common for all Schneidmesser is assigned to which, and that in each compartment a feed feature, e.g. a conveyor is arranged and with this cooperating pressing roles, which feed feature is propelled alternating to the manipulation of the Schneidmessers, in order to supply the Flächengebllde to the measurers and to away-supply the circumcised planar formation of these.
