A teaching aid comprises a transparent pocketed sheet 10 printed on each pocket 14 with a problem, or alternatively with the answer to a problem, and a set of cards 15 for insertion, one in each pocket bearing on one side the answers to the problems posed by the pocketed sheet or alternatively with problems to be answered by the matter carried by the pocketed sheet, the cards being marked on their other sides so as to make up a readily recognizable picture, jigsaw fashion, when the cards are correctly inserted in the pockets of the sheet. The problems may be arithmetical or geometric or they may consist of pictures to be completed or colours to be matched.
