SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining a gel preparation for the prevention of tooth decay in children includes the preparation of aqueous solutions of calcium salts and fluoride with the addition of sodium hydroxide, mixing them with a hot aqueous solution of the sodium salt of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and, after cooling, with each other. In this case, dehydrated calcium chloride, sodium fluoride is used as the starting components. On their basis, aqueous solutions of calcium chloride and sodium fluoride are obtained from the calculation that in the finished gel means the CaCl 2 content was 1.40%, the NaF content was 0.044%, or 0.077%, or 0.11%. An aqueous solution of NaF with an addition of NaOH providing pH = 6.5±0.1 in the finished gel. Each of the solutions is mixed with a hot 4% aqueous solution of CMC, cooled, combined, adding fluoride to calcium, mixed well. Improved compositions comprising a mixture of particulate materials with water-based liquids containing water-soluble polymers and surfactants are provided. Examples of particulate powders include mixtures of calcium silicate, calcium aluminate, calcium sulfate, and hydroxyapatite. Examples of water-soluble polymers include polyvinyl alcohols, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl acetates, polyacrylic acid, and polymethacrylic acid. Surfactants such as sodium dodecyl sulfate are added to the composition to interact with the polymeric materials. The compositions are particularly suitable for sealing and obturating dental root canals and root apices. The composition provides a stable barrier to bacterial' and fluid leakage in the root canal system of a tooth. In addition, the compositions help promote the growth of new bone and tissue surrounding the root-tip area or dentin tissue that covers an injured or amputated pulp.

The glass ceramic is then formed to a dental restoration for immediate dental application. A translucent and tooth coloured glass ceramic made by the method and used for dental restoration is also presented.

The dental liner as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising: bismuth oxide for imparting fluorescence to the zirconia claim 1 ,wherein the bismuth oxide is dissolved in hydrochloric acid or nitric acid.5. A method of manufacturing a dental liner for bonding feldspar porcelain and zirconia claim 1 , the method comprising:mixing silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, zirconia powder, and cryolite;adding 1,4-butanediol for retaining moisture of the dental liner and preventing occurrence of layers and performing mixing; anddissolving bismuth oxide for imparting fluorescence to the zirconia in hydrochloric acid or nitric acid and mixing the bismuth oxide dissolved in hydrochloric acid or nitric acid.6. Provided are antibacterial and antimicrobial surface coatings and dental materials by utilizing the antimicrobial properties of copper chalcogenide and/or copper halide (CuQ, where Q=chalcogens including oxygen, or halogens, or nothing). An antimicrobial barrier is created by incorporation of CuQ nanoparticles of an appropriate size and at a concentration necessary and sufficient to create a unique bioelectrical environment. The unique bioelectrical environment results in biocidal effectiveness through a multi-factorial mechanism comprising a combination of the intrinsic quantum flux of copper (Cu 0 , Cu 1+ , Cu 2+ ) ions and the high surface-to-volume electron sink facilitated by the nanoparticle. The result is the constant quantum flux of copper which manifests and establishes the antimicrobial environment preventing or inhibiting the growth of bacteria. The presence of CuQ results in inhibiting or delaying bacterial destruction and endogenous enzymatic breakdown of the zone of resin inter-diffusion, the integrity of which is essential for dental restoration longevity.
