A process for coating a surface of a nonferrous metallic article with a bi-layer polymeric coating, said method comprising: 1) Subjecting the surface of a nonferrous metal article to a chemical washing; 2) Heating the article whose surface will be coated, to a temperature higher than the melting temperature of the selected polymer and lower than the ignition temperature thereof; 3) Apply the first coating layer, with a polymer size of particle of less than or equal to 20 mesh, keeping constant the substrate temperature; 4) Applying a second coating layer of plastic on the first coating layer, after the first layer has adhered to the substrate surface, where the second layer can be the same or different polymer, with a particle size equal to or less than 20 mesh; 5) Heating further the ensemble of substrate and bi-layer coating to a temperature higher than the selected at step 2, but lower than the ignition temperature of the coating and, 6) Cooling the thus coated substrate to room temperature. The product obtained offers a smooth, nonporous surface, high adhesion of the coating to the substrate and it is ensured the covering of all the surface exposed to the chemical treatment of the first stage, so that the resulting coated substrate is suitable for use in the food industry.

Highly efficient, multi-functional anti-icing compositions and methods of their use are provided. Anti-icing compositions include hydrogels configured to form thin film coatings on various surfaces via spin coating under UV irradiation. Multifunctional anti-icing platforms are based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-grafted polyelectrolyte hydrogels. Methods for grafting hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) chains onto a hydrophilic polyelectrolyte network containing various counterions, forming a multifunctional hybrid anti-icing hydrogel are also provided. 1. An anti-icing material comprising:a hydrophilic polyelectrolyte material containing at least one counterion, anda hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS);wherein the PDMS is cross-linked onto the polyelectrolyte material;wherein the anti-icing material inhibits ice nucleation, inhibits ice propagation, and reduces ice adhesion.2. The anti-icing material of claim 1 , wherein the anti-icing material inhibits ice nucleation at a temperature of lower than −30° C.3. The anti-icing material of claim 1 , wherein the anti-icing material inhibits ice propagation at a time of greater than 500 s/cm.4. It is an object of the present invention to provide a surface-treated copper foil comprising an electrodeposited copper foil with a chromium-free rust-proofing layer which exhibits good performance in peel strength and resistance to peel loss after chemical treatment as a printed wiring board. To achieve this object, a surface-treated copper foil comprising an rust-proofing layer and a silane coupling agent layer formed on the bonding surface of an electrodeposited copper foil to an insulating resin substrate, wherein the rust-proofing layer comprises a nickel layer having a thickness by weight of 5 to 40 mg/m 2 and a tin layer having a thickness by weight of 5 to 40 mg/m 2 stacked in this order, and the rust-proofing layer is provided with the silane coupling layer on the surface is applied. Also a surface-treated copper foil coated with a very thin primer resin layer, comprising the surface-treated copper foil according to the present invention (without roughening treatment), and a very thin primer resin layer having a thickness by calculation of 0.5 to 5-micron meter provided on the bonding surface of the surface-treated copper foil to the insulating resin substrate is applied.

The present invention relates to a bus bar electrically connecting a bus bar extended from a main power breaker of a distribution board and a bus bar extended from a sub power breaker so as to branch current to the sub power breaker and, more specifically, to an insulation coating method of a bus bar of a distribution board, in which only one portion is electrically connected and other portions are insulated in interconnection between a plate-structured bus bars, such that current is branched to a conducted bus bar. To achieve this, according to the present invention, the insulation coating method performs insulation coating to a bus bar in order to allow a plurality of plate-structured bus bars extended from a main power breaker of a distribution board and a plurality of plate-structured bus bars extended from a sub power breaker to come into contact with any one point and be insulated at other portions. The insulation coating method comprises: a step of processing bus bars to be interconnected with each other; a step of masking a connection portion; a step of coating powder coat on the bus bars; a step of heating the bus bars having the powder coat coated thereon to form the powder coat into an insulation layer; and a step of removing a masking member.

A process for imparting a simulated patina appearance to a copper substrate, and a substrate having that appearance. A colorant having the desired initial patina color tone is employed to produce a non-continuous layer of colorant on the surface of a copper substrate. The appearance of patination of the desired tone is created by interspersed spots of colorant with the remaining portion of the substrate being exposed for natural patination. The interspersed spots of colorant may be produced by screen printing, by spattering, as by spraying, or by mechanical removal of colorant after application to the substrate surface, or a combination. The colorant is preferably a paint and may be applied by non-uniform spraying on the substrate surface. Non-uniformity may be accomplished by varying the volume of colorant sprayed during the application process or by varying the relative movement of the spray and substrate. After application, the colorant provides a simulated patina to the copper substrate surface while allowing the remaining (non-covered) portion of the substrate to patinate naturally.
