Древесный материал обрабатывают составом на водной основе, который является устойчивым при комнатной температуре или при температурах в диапазоне от 15 до 35°С. Состав содержит силикат щелочного металла, воду, понижающий растворимость агент, который выбирают из органической кислоты, неорганической кислоты или неорганического многовалентного иона, добавляемого в количестве, более низком, чем количество понижающего растворимость агента, необходимое для того, чтобы состав достиг точки гелеобразования. Массовая процентная доля силиката щелочного металла по отношению к общей массе состава на водной основе может составлять от 1 мас.% до 50 мас.%. Наносят состав и затем сушат древесный материал при любой данной температуре для удаления избытка воды. Отверждение высушенного древесного материала происходит при повышенной температуре для понижения растворимости силиката щелочного металла. Пропитку под давлением осуществляют путем помещения древесного материала внутрь сосуда пропитки и нанесения состава на водной основе на древесный материал. A composition comprises 10-90% by weight of an organic copolymer containing halogen, carbon, oxygen and hydrogen having a plurality of hydroxyl groups and more than 6% by wt. of fluorine and 90-10% of polysilic acid (calculated as SiO2), e.g. obtained by a hydrolysis of ethyl silicate which has not been allowed to reach the silica gel stage. The copolymer is preferably formed from units of (a) one or more hydroxyalkyl vinyl ethers having up to ten carbons in the alkyl and (b) tetrafluoroethylene and/or trifluorochloroethylene; alternatively the hydroxyl groups are obtained by hydrolysis of a vinyl acetate copolymer with (b). The most common substances used today are not environmentally friendly and they need to be replaced by more environmentally friendly options. Disclosed is a polyethoxysiloxane (PES) based substance which is obtained through (a) a first reaction for hydrolysis-condensatio of tetraethoxysilane of formula SiX(I), wherein X is an ethoxy group, which is catalysed by an acid at initial pH from 0 to ?7 in the presence of ethanol or a mixture of ethanol and water as a solvent for 1-24 hours at temperature of 0-78°C, the initial pH being established using diluted nitric acid or an acid mixture of a physiologically transferred acid and a substrate made from nitroxide synthase, (b) a second reaction of hydrolysis-condensation of the substance obtained at step (a), and simultaneous removal of the solvent by gradual evaporation in a closed, gas-impermeable container at pressure of 100-1013 mbar and temperature of 50-78°C, until sharp increase in viscosity (at shear velocity of 10 sat 4°C) to 0.5-2 Pa·s, until achieving constant weight and until formation of cyclotetrasiloxane of general formula ((SiO(OH)(OEt)×1/64 HO)and molar mass 4 x about 114 g = about 456 g, (c) cooling the PES in a closed container for a period ranging from a few minutes to a few hours and (d) converting the PES obtained at step (c) into a PES substance through a third hydrolysis-condensation reaction. The organic binder system has three parts, the first two of which are conventional and are used in the cold box or no bake process. Scintillant-doped polystyrene core nanoparticles surrounded by a silica shell can be used to quantify low-energy radionuclides. The nanoparticles are recoverable and re-useable, which may reduce waste and allow for sample recovery. Unlike traditional liquid scintillation cocktail (LSC) formulations, the nanoparticles are made from non-toxic and non-volatile components, and can be used without the aid of surfactants, making them a possible alternative to LSC for reducing the environmental impact of studies that employ radioactive tracers. Recognition elements attached to the functionalized silica surfaces of the nanoparticles allow for separation-free scintillation proximity assay (SPA) applications in aqueous samples. Lipid membrane coatings deposited on the nanoparticle surface can significantly reduce the non-specific adsorption of proteins and other biomolecules, and allow for the incorporation of membrane proteins or other membrane associated binding molecules.

Bei einem Verfahren zur Behandlung von Wärmeaustauscheroberflächen aus Aluminium durch Aufbringen eines hydrophilen Überzuges mit hoher Haftfestigkeit bringt man mindestens einzelne Bereiche der Aluminiumoberfläche mit einer Dispersion in Kontakt, die eine Verbindung mit mindestens einer Silanolgruppe (-SiOH) und Polyvinylpyrrolidon enthält. Vorzugsweise erhält die Wärmeaustauscheroberfläche vor dem Kontakt mit der Dispersion einen chemischen Konversionsüberzug, insbesondere einen Chromatüberzug, eine anodisch erzeugte Oxidschicht oder einen Polymerüberzug. Die Dispersion sollte 1 bis 10 Gew.-% einer mindestens eine Silanolgruppe aufweisende Verbindung und 1 bis 20 Gew.-% Polyvinylpyrrolidon bei einem Gewichtsverhältnis dieser Komponenten von (10 bis 0,1):1 enthalten und anschließend aufgetrocknet werden. Das angestrebte Schichtgewicht liegt im Bereich von 0,2 bis 2,0 g/m². In a process for the treatment of heat exchanger surfaces made of aluminum by applying a hydrophilic coating with high adhesive strength, at least individual areas of the aluminum surface are brought into contact with a dispersion which contains a compound with at least one silanol group (-SiOH) and polyvinylpyrrolidone. The heat exchanger surface preferably receives a chemical conversion coating, in particular a chromate coating, an anodically produced oxide layer or a polymer coating before contact with the dispersion. The dispersion should contain 1 to 10% by weight of a compound having at least one silanol group and 1 to 20% by weight of polyvinylpyrrolidone at a weight ratio of these components of (10 to 0.1): 1 and then dried. The desired layer weight is in the range of 0.2 to 2.0 g / m².
