The present invention provides a method for controlling an air conditioner, which rapidly performs liquid accumulation elimination operation by increasing the degree of super cooling by using an indoor fan of a non-operated indoor unit (OFF) and reduces noise of refrigerant expansion caused during the liquid accumulation/elimination operation. The degree of super cooling is determined by determining the temperature of an inlet side (T1) of a cooling system operated for heating and a discharge temperature. The degree of super cooling is increased by operating the indoor fan facing an indoor heat exchanger. When the degree of temperature is a predetermined temperature or higher, liquid accumulation is eliminated by opening an expansion device of the non-operated indoor unit (OFF) at a predetermined opening degree.
