The bilge water is collected in a calming chamber, from which, after sufficient settling time, the water phase is first drawn off and delivered via a de-oiling installation. The device for de-oiling the bilge water comprises among other things pumps and a pre-separating tank as well as an electric circuit for the pumps, which guarantees that the separating and calming time between the pumping processes is observed.

An arm 14 pivoted at 15 to the shank of the boat-hook and controlled by a spring 16, terminates in a pivoted latch 15 normally closed by a spring 20, the arm being normally held adjacent to the shank of the hook by a lanyard 17 under the control of the operator. The hook together with the rope is engaged with the mooring ring 13 and the arm 14 released to grip the loop. The disengagement of the hook alone from the mooring-ring leaves the rope passed through the ring and permits the free end of the rope being brought back to the operator by the hook.

A method of installing an outer cover over a buoyancy tube associated with a rigid hull buoyant boat , the method comprising:installing a first portion of an outer cover onto the rigid hull buoyant boat, the first portion including a plurality of grommets;installing a second portion of the outer cover onto the rigid hull buoyant boat, the second portion including a plurality of female connective elements, each female connective element associated with a male connective element;connecting the first portion to the second portion such that the first and second covers enclose the buoyancy tube, wherein connecting includes inserting each of the male connective elements through their associated grommet to be further received by their associated female connective element.2. Systems and methods for buoyancy compensation are provided. Both active and passive buoyancy compensation can be provided using a compressible mixture made of a liquid along with a hydrophopic material such as a powder, electrospun fiber, or foam. The compressible fluid compresses as pressure is applied or expands as pressure is released thereby substantially maintaining an overall neutral buoyancy for a vessel. This allows the vessel to ascend and descend to water depths with minimal active buoyancy change. As a result, the energy usage and the reliance on higher pressure air and oils can be minimized. 1. The knee braces described herein are particularly suitable for use with lightweight, inflatable rafts and kayaks, for example packrafts used in backcountry boating.
