Improvements in water collecting bags for use in gulley-openings

[Class 69 (i)] A bag of watertight canvas &c. for use in gulley openings to collect water for firefighting, has the open end of the bag secured to a flange of watertight canvas &c. reinforced by a substantially rigid ring-like mem ber spaced from the end of the bag and of greater dimensions than th( gulley opening. The canvas &c. may be proofed by the substance known under the Registered Trade Mark "Proofex". The bag is formed of two pieces of canvas 11, 12, stitched together at 14, and a base of two pieces 15, 16, stitched to the pieces 11, 12, at 17, and also stitched together at 18. The open end of the bag is turned outwardly and stitched between two layers of canvas 21, 22, folded over a ring-like member 23 of welded, galvanised steel rod, and stitched at 25. In a flooded road, a ball &c. float may be attached to the bag to indicate its position.
