Improvements in and relating to Fastenings for Buttons and the like.
Реферат: 30,132. Meyer, F. Dec. 24. Buttons.-In buttons of the type that are fastened by screwing into the fabric, the spiral coil a, Fig. 2, is made of hard resilient flat wire, the windings clamping lightly against one another, and being of as low a pitch as possible. A rigid or elastic pin c provides a limit for the screwing-in, and holds the coil a against the button or against a sleeve b. The pin c is thicker at one end than the other, and only clamps a few of the windings, the upper windings being left loose so that the button may yield a little under a pull. For powerful coils, a wire having notches is used, so that the windings may contact intermittently. To allow a little play to the coil between the button and the pin c, the pin c is constructed with a larger diameter at the end inserted into the button, this end being further enlarged without increasing the diameter of the shank by a tool d, Fig. 3, comprising a thin-walled tube. Various forms of pins c are shown in the Drawings accompanying the Specification. In cases where the button has to be fastened in a certain position with a sign pointing in a given direction, the spiral coil is made triangular or polygonal in shape. With heavy buttons, two concentric coils may be used.
