An air cushion vehicle 1 has the cushion space divided into separate compartments 5-8 by walls each comprising a series of separate downwardly-extending members 10 formed as channels in horizontal section, the legs or side walls of adjoining members facing in opposite directions as shown in Fig. 2. By this means a wall is able to withstand fluctuating pressure in the cushion compartments on either side of the wall. Adjoining members of each wall may be inclined in opposite directions towards the respective cushion spaces on opposite sides of the wall and fluid may be discharged down the channels formed by the members to generate fluid curtains.
