Inlaid fabrics. - A machine for producing inlaid patterns of rubber or vulcanizable composition in the form of sheeting or tiling on a continuous web or backing comprises a number of similar units each of which cuts from a web a portion of the complete design and deposits it in the required position on the backing. The backing-material is passed from a roll 15 over a series of rollers 18, above each of which is a die-roller 19<1>. Webs of rubber 28 are passed Between groups of pressure-rollers 27 and the upper rollers 19<1>, and thence between the rollers 19<1>, 18. The rollers 27 are mounted on an arm 26, which is, pivoted to the frame and is adjustable by screwed rods 29 and hand-wheels 31 to force the web against the sharp edges of the die-roller 19<1>. The portions cut thereby are pushed off the roller and on to the. backing by plungers in the die-roller, and the waste is wound upon a shaft 32.
