Реферат: A support element for mounting a bearing and a pump comprising the support element are disclosed. The support element is configured to support a rotatable shaft and comprises a distortable portion and a bearing mounting portion, the distortable portion being linked to the bearing mounting portion and being formed of a plurality of materials, each of the plurality of materials having a different coefficient of thermal expansion such that a change in temperature of the distortable portion causes the distortable portion to distort due to differential expansion of the plurality of materials. The support element is configured such that distortion of the distortable portion displaces the bearing mounting portion in an axial direction relative to an axis of the rotatable shaft that the bearing is configured to support, an amount of axial displacement being dependent on the temperature change.
