Реферат: 2372. Hillcoat, D. Jan. 29. Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic; felloes or rims; spokes.-A spring tyre is shown in partial sectional elevation. Projecting radially from the tubular rim A are sockets B, each of which has a central bolt I, the sockets and bolts being secured to the rim by nuts B', B<2>. Within each socket slides a sleeve E which has tongues E<3> to move in slots B<3> in the socket. The outer end of each sleeve is turned outward to grip the flanged end F<1> of an inner sleeve F, and between the two sleeves is a spiral spring C, the inner end of which bears against the end of the socket B. The inner end of the sleeve F takes against a nut G screwed on to the bolt I, whereby the compression of the spring can be regulated. The tread consists of rubber blocks H fastened in cups E<2> attached to the flanged ends of the sleeves F. The bolts I may be replaced by the ends of the spokes, and the rim may be of wood. In the Provisional Specification, the spokes have screw nuts for regulating the tension.
