Annular wheels.-The propelling-wheel of a motor bicycle or tricycle consists of a rim 5 with a pneumatic tyre 6 and is supported and driven by a friction flywheel 3 which is mounted in brackets on the frame 2. The rim and wheel are formed with projections and grooves which fit each other. The rim 5 is steadied by means of guide-rollers 17, which are carried by brackets at the ends of horizontal tubes 13 on the frame 2. Springs are interposed at the sliding connection of the tubes and brackets to reduce vibration. The wheel 3 may be arranged to be lifted from the rim 5 and lowered into the driving position when properly in motion. The front wheel may also be built as described above, the friction-wheel 22 being then constructed, if desired, like an ordinary cycle wheel.
