Energy meters.-In a motor meter of the type described in Specification No. 20,219, A.D. 1904, and No. 13,985, A.D. 1906, a disk armature a carrying the whole or a fraction of the main current rotates in mercury between the poles of a shunt electro-magnet having a nearly complete magnetic circuit. The central core and side limbs of the magnet consist of iron washers f, k, which are separated by paper or other thin non-magnetic material, are strung on non-magnetic rods g, l, m, and magnetically connected by plates h, n. Springs may be inserted to keep the washers tightly in place. The mercury chamber is formed by plates c, d and a ring e. The upper bearing for the spindle and the counting-train, together with brake magnets u, are carried by a bracket v held by nuts 1 so as to be readily detachable. The counting-train itself is readily detachable from the bracket v. A telescopic tube 5 is provided for closing the mercury chamber and lifting the armature spindle off the lower pivot for transport ; the tube when raised presses against the brake disk q. Correcting-coils 7 may surround the whole of the magnetic part of the meter, or one limb only. According to the Provisional Specification, the whole of the meter may be mounted on hinges within its case, so that it may ba turned round for examination and repair
