A stack of paper containers 1 in fixed magazine 2 are delivered one by one to a former 16 by oscillating device 50. The device is oscillated by rod 6 and includes arm 5 pivoted at 4, the arm having an abutment 7 and carrying a slider 8 co-operating with said abutment. Slider 8 is actuated by links 11 and 10, the link 10 being pivoted at 4 and being coupled by spring 9 to pawl 12 pivoted on arm 5. Pawl 12 co-operates with stop 14 and link 10 cooperates with stop 15. Operation.-At the top of the stroke of rod 6, pawl 12 engages stop 14. This causes rotation of link 10 clockwise and advances slider 8 to engage the lowermost container 1 between the said slider and abutment 7. The container is accordingly engaged and is then withdrawn downwards from magazine 2 as rod 6 descends. In the lower position of rod 6, link 10 engages stop 15 so that the stop causes the link to rotate anti-clockwise. This withdraws slider 8 from abutment 7 to release the container and to deliver it on to former 16. The cycle then recommences.
