Реферат: Water-insoluble monoazo-dyestuffs of the formula <FORM:0728601/IV (c)/1> where X is an alkyl or alkoxy group or a halogen atom, Y is hydrogen or a halogen atom, Z1 a methoxy group and one of the two substituents Z2 and Z3 a methoxy group and the other a methyl or methoxy group or a halogen, are made by reacting a dizao component and an azo component. In examples the diazo component may be diazotized 1-amino-2-methylbenzene-5-carboxylic acid amide, 1-amino-2-ethoxybenzene-5-carboxylic acid amide, 1-amino - 2 - chlorobenzene - 5 - carboxylic acid amide, or 1 - amino - 2 - methoxy - benzene - 5-carboxylic acid amide and the azo 1-(21 : 31-hydroxynaphthoyl - amino) - 2 : 5 - dimethoxy-4 - chlorobenzene, -2 : 4 - dimethoxy - 5-chlorobenzene, - 2 : 5 - dimethoxy - 4 - bromobenzene, - 2 : 5 - dimethoxy - 4 - methylbenzene, - 2 : 4 - dimethoxy - 5 - bromobenzene, - 2 : 4 : 5 - trimethoxybenzene or 1 - (61-bromo-21 : 31 - hydroxy - naphthoylamino) - 2 : 4 - dimethoxy - 5 - chlorobenzene. The dyestuffs are used for colouring polymers.ALSO:Compositions comprising a vinyl polymer and a plasticizer are coloured with a water-insoluble monoazo-dyestuff of the formula <FORM:0728601/IV (a)/1> where X is an alkyl or alkoxy group or a halogen atom, Y is hydrogen or a halogen atom, Z1 a methoxy group and one of the two substituents Z2 and Z3 a methoxy group and the other a methyl or methoxy group or a halogen. The composition may also include water, organic solvents and fillers such as titanium dioxide, kaolin, chalk or talc. The vinyl polymer may be polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl ether, a polyacrylate or methacrylate, polyacrylonitrile or a copolymer of these monomers, e.g. of vinyl chloride and methyl acrylate or vinyl acetate. An extensive list of dyestuffs is given in the Specification (see Group IV (c)). Exemplified dyestuffs are the products obtained from diazotized 1-amino-2-methoxybenzene - 5 - carboxylic acid amide and 1 - (21 : 31 - hydroxynaphthoylamino) - 2 : 4 - dimethoxy - 5 - chlorobenzene, or 1 - (21 : 31 - hydroxynaphthoylamino) - 2 : 5 - dimethoxy - 4 - chlorobenzene. The plasticizer may be dibutyl or dioctyl phthalate. The compositions may be made into films or used for coating paper or textiles, e.g. cotton fabrics, and the coating gelatinized on the fabric by heat.
