The molding composition of the invention can be shaped into molded bodies, the mineral filler being from about 1 to granulated about 9 parts by weight and having a particle size of up to 10 cm2 . As the plastic used in the composition is colorless, if the dye is not added minerals of the filler are very apparent from view in products formed.

Molded products obtained from the molding composition, for example floor coatings, plates, sheets and other objects, can be easily polished, the ability to bind to the mineral particles being about four times greater than the resistance of the mineral, and the compressive strength of the molding composition being adjusted in correspondence with the degree of hardness of different minerals, for example by adding a soft polyester, as the "O-type polytite" or a neighbor.

The molding composition is particularly useful for preparing coatings for floors, walls and stair step, because of the coating layers may be laid in place, seamless, or by the use of plates or tiles prefabricated.

Used a mass consisting of 1.0 kg of the gelatinizing agent "polytite kind 8.000", 0.2 kg of polyvinyl chloride "Norvinyl" without particular physical characteristics and also used 15 C/O styrene as a diluent. Ingredients are mixed in a mixer of known type, for example in a mixer or in a turbine mixer agitator. The gelatinized mixture within about 5 minutes at room temperature 20 usual °g. Casting compositions suitable for making floor coverings and the like comprise 1 to 9 parts of a granular mineral filler per part of binder comprising an unsaturated polyester of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and a di-alcohol together with 1 to 70% (by weight of the total binder) of polyvinyl chloride, the composition also including a copolymerizable liquid monomer to the extent of 1 to 15% wt. of the binder. The composition may also contain a catalyst, e.g. MEK peroxide, and accelerator, e.g. cobalt naphthenate, and a colouring agent. In the example the polyester is derived from maleic and phthalic acids and a dihydric alcohol, the comonomer is styrene and the filler is marble.



The composition consists of a 1° gelatinizing agent for plastics e.g. polyester, and polyvinyl chloride without particular physical characteristics, as well as a mineral filler granulated;

The composition contains from 1 2° to 70% by weight of polyvinyl chloride;

The composition contains from 1 3° to 9 parts by weight of filler;

4° granulated filler material has a particle size of about 10 cm2 ;

5° the composition also contains a diluent, e.g. styrene, 1 to 15% in the amount of weight;

6° the composition further contains a dye;

The 7° containing a curing agent that is effective at room temperature.
