A system and method for data transmission incorporating a hybrid automatic repeat request (ARQ) (124) function at each node in an ad-hoc network. Each node is configured to calculate an optimum segment size for transmission and thereafter executes the ARQ function to transmit and receive (124, 128) data segments with forward error correction and error detection coding. The coding allows the node to detect and locate errors within received segments and to provide an acknowledgement only after all segments are correctly received. A negative acknowledgement from the receiving node states the location of failed segments, and only failed segments are then retransmitted. The failed segments can be retransmitted in their original location and in other segment locations which contained segments that did not fail, thus reducing maximum time to successfully deliver the segments.

The wireless device may in some cases broadcast this aggregation capability (e.g., periodically). Additionally or alternatively, the wireless device may transmit the aggregation capability in response to a request received from another wireless device. In some cases, the first wireless device may transmit a request to a second wireless device inquiring about aggregation capabilities of the second wireless device. The second wireless device may respond with its aggregation capabilities (e.g., or may broadcast its aggregation capabilities independently of receiving the response). The wireless devices may establish a multi-link session based at least in part on the indicated aggregation capabilities.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and apparatus for information transmission, which comprises configuring a transmission window within a scheduling window; wherein, a scheduling window comprises K transmission windows, a transmission window comprises P available subframes, K is an integer greater than 0, P is an integer greater than 1, and the available subframes within the transmission window are utilized to transmit data. By using at least two subframes within a transmission window to transmit data, the technical solutions provided by the present embodiments allow for the channel coding and rate matching of system information, such as SIB1 information, to no longer be restricted to within a single subframe; this technology is especially applicable to system information transmission in systems like NB-IoT, and ensures transmission performance of system information like NB-IoT SIB1 information.

In aspects of packet segmentation and reassembly for mesh networks, a source node in a mesh network segments an access protocol data unit (PDU) into a set of segments that are concatenated with a segment transport header and transmitted over the mesh network in segmented access messages to a destination node. The destination node allocates memory to store the content of the access PDU based on a segment total field in the segment transport header, and stores each received segment at the appropriate offset in the allocated memory, based on a value of a segment offset filed in each segmented access message. The destination node transmits a segment acknowledgement message including a segment acknowledgement field indicating which of the multiple segments have been received by the destination node. 1. Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for using a radio access network (RAN) level negative acknowledgement (NAK) feedback to indicate at least one missing frame from an encoding device. The RAN level NAK feedback replaces or preempts a decoding device sending an end-to-end feedback to the encoding device using real-time transport protocol (RTP) that has a long latency and may cause freezes at the decoding device. For example, an encoding device may send to a network entity a request for a configuration that configures the encoding device to transmit media frames to the decoding device. The network entity may provide a NAK feedback indicating at least one missing frame. Having received the configuration in response to the request, the encoding device transmits media frames to the decoding device via the network entity, and monitors for NAK feedback from the network entity in accordance with the configuration.

These effect can include a shortening of UE battery life and/or excessive signalling caused by the frequent changing from an idle mode to an active mode. A terminal side receives terminal capability query information from a network side, determines band interval lists to which each band supported by the terminal side belongs, and reports the supported bands through cells corresponding to the band interval lists to which each band belongs; and the network side determines band interval lists to which each band supported by the network side belongs when issuing a band capability supported by the network side, and issues the supported bands through cells corresponding to the band interval lists to which each band belongs. By the solutions of the disclosure, the bands belonging to different band interval lists can be reported and issued through different cells, and the problem of limitations to the number of the bands during the reporting and issuing of the bands is solved. 1. Methods and systems are disclosed that support the aggregation of acknowledgement messages and control messages. Advantageously, acknowledgement and negative acknowledgement indications for multiple client nodes are combined into a single aggregated message which is broadcast or multicast to the multiple client nodes. Based on unique identifiers assigned to each client node, client nodes are grouped such that the aggregated acknowledgement messages can be efficiently encoded to conserve both network capacity when they are transmitted, as well as processing capacity when they are parsed by the client nodes. If code division multiple access (CDMA) technology is used, the aggregated acknowledgment message can be transmitted without CDMA spreading to effectively broadcast or multicast it to multiple client nodes. A similar technique can be employed for the efficient broadcast or multicast of aggregated control messages. 1.
