A process to produce a polyolefin reactive telechelic pre-polymer comprising:reacting alkyl-cis-cyclooctene and optionally cis-cyclooctene, in the presence of a difunctional chain transfer agent and/or a polyfunctional chain transfer agent under ring opening metathesis polymerization conditions to form an unsaturated polyolefin reactive telechelic pre-polymer.2. The process according to claim 1 , wherein the alkyl-cis-cyclooctene is 3-hexyl-cis-cyclooctene.3. The process according to claim 1 , wherein the chain transfer agent is a difunctional chain transfer agent and is maleic acid.4. The process according to claim 1 , wherein cis-cyclooctene is present in the reacting step and the mole ratio of cis-cyclooctene to alkyl-cis-cyclooctene is from 1:0.05 to 0.05:1.5. The process according to claim 1 , wherein the reacting occurs in the presence of a Grubbs catalyst.6. The instant invention provides a polyolefin blend composition, process for producing the same, and articles made therefrom. A polyolefin-based composition showing improved weldability using high frequency(HF) includes (1) a base polymer selected from (a) a homogeneously branched, linear or substantially linear ethylene/α-olefin copolymer; (b) a homogeneously branched propylene/α-olefin copolymer; or (c) a combination thereof; and (2) at least one secondary component selected from (a) an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer having from 5 to 40 wt% vinyl acetate; (b) an ethylene-ethyl acrylate having from 5 to 25 wt% ethyl acrylate; and (c) a combination thereof. The combination of the specified polyolefin with the specified secondary component, which is a polar polymer, makes these formulations HF weldable, with a cohesive welding failure, a weld strength for 10 mil thick film greater than 7 lb/in (1.23 N/mm) at a weld time of less than or equal to 6 seconds. The formulations may also exhibit good calendering processability and mechanical properties.

The invention is directed to compositions comprising an elastomer component and a propylene component, and in which the elastomer component comprises at least one ethylene/α-olefin polymer, optionally containing a diene, and the polypropylene component comprises at least one branched polypropylene. Preferably, the elastomer component has a melt tan delta between about 0.7 and about 8, as measured by parallel plate rheometer at 0.1 rad/sec, 190° C., and 15 percent strain; and the ratio of the melt tan delta of the elastomer component to the melt tan delta of the propylene component is from 0.5 to 4. The invention also provides for method of making such compositions, and to low gloss articles prepared from the same. The inventive compositions are particularly suitable for fabricating thermoformed sheeting with reduced gloss.
