A reversing gear has a sleeve 27 and a first shaft 36 parallel to and equidistant from a second shaft 17 having a gear 19 of the same size as and in constant mesh with two gears 35, 37 on the sleeve 27 and the shaft 36 respectively. Coaxial with the sleeve 27 may be a second sleeve 28 and a third shaft 24 connectible selectively with the sleeves by clutches 29, 30 (e.g. fluid actuated). Coaxial with the shaft 17 may be an output shaft 21 having a gear 23 in constant mesh with a gear 26 on the shaft 24. Input may be either at 18 to the shaft 17 or to the shaft 36 or to the sleeve 27 any of which may provide an auxiliary power supply in addition to or instead of a shaft 40. Shaft axes are spaced so that shaft 36 may exchange positions with shaft 40 or sleeves 27, 28 and shaft 24. A typical forward drive line is 18,-17-19,-35-27-29,-24- 26-23-21, and reverse, 18-17-19,-37- 36-38-39-28-30,-24-26-23-21.
