Реферат: The cores of the communications cable are plastics insulated, and the spaces within the cable are filled with a sealant which sticks to the core insulation and to the cable sheath. The filling process uses a pressure chamber (4) in which the sealang is forced into the cable sheath. During filling the pressure chamber and/or the sealant are vibrated. Inside the pressure chamber the sheathed cable (5) is preferably passed between pairs of rollers for deformation into a flattened cross section. The roller pairs may also be vibrated during the process. The sealant may be fed into the pressure chamber via a reservoir of variable volume. The process provides complete filling of the inner cable spaces independently of the number cores.
