Реферат: The invention concerns a method for managing the operation of a component of a system for storing and injecting an additive into the exhaust gases of a combustion engine. Said system comprises a container for storing the additive and said method comprises the following steps: - obtaining an instantaneous measurement of the concentration of additive and/or an instantaneous measurement of the alkalinity of the additive and/or an instantaneous measurement of the temperature inside the container, by means of one or a plurality of measurement sensors mounted inside the container; - determining the reducing power of the additive on the basis of the instantaneous measurement of the concentration of additive and/or an instantaneous measurement of the alkalinity of the additive and/or an instantaneous measurement of the temperature inside the container; - generating a control signal, on the basis of the defined reducing power; - transmitting the generated control signal to the component.
