Cryogenic fluid storage and supply system with all-attitude gas vent means
Реферат: 1483182 Venting cryogenic vÞssels UNION CARBIDE CORP 11 Feb 1975 [18 March 1974] 5854/75 Addition to 1427354 Heading F4P The dispensing containers of the cryogenic fluid supply system described and claimed in parent Specification have additional all-attitude gas venting means which includes a first pressure relief valve 32 located between vaporizer 26 and flow control valve 31, a second relief valve 36 which is set to vent gas at a pressure lower than that of valve 32 and which is located in a branch conduit 34 leading from conduit 18, and a further vaporizer 35 upstream of valve 36, the second valve 36 being constructed to vent gas at a rate of from between 3 and 25 times the normal evaporation rate, and preferably between 5 and 20 times, and the vaporizer 35 having a heat transfer capacity not greater than one-third, and preferably less than one-fifth, of the vaporizer 26, this heat capacity being sufficient to vaporize cryogenic liquid at a rate from 1À04 to 1À30, and preferably from 1À08 to 1-25, times the maximum venting rate of second relief valve 36. A restrictor 36a is associated with valve 36. Thus, whatever the attitude of container 10, gas will be vented in a gaseous form, the venting rate being increased at the higher pressure level. A high-pressure bursting disc 38 is also provided. A practical portable assembly incorporating the above system is also described (Figs. 5 to 7, not shown).
