[Also in Division B8] Fuels of different grades are filled in horizontal layers 13 in a bunker 1 having downwardly converging side walls 2, 3 and a bottom discharge slot 5 through which a mixture of grades is discharged from the face of the heap by and between the counter-rotating vane wheels 6, 7 mounted on the travelling carriage 8. The leading vane wheel 7 removes sufficient material from the foot of the pile to cause slip over its entire face 14 and rotates faster than the wheel 6 which completes clearance of the mixture on to the conveyer 9. Filling and emptying may proceed simultaneously at opposite ends of the bunker, the carriage 8 being reversible, and the speeds of the vane wheels interchangeable.
