Реферат: The invention relates to an improved apparatus for filtering and disinfecting ambient air, wherein said apparatus includes a rigid casing (1) containing, on the lower portion, a pre-filter (2), leading to an air inlet (3), and an electric fan (4) and containing, on the upper portion, an absolute filter (6), capable of retaining fine particles remaining in the air, and a sound suppressor (5) placed between the electric fan (4) and the absolute filter (6). In said apparatus, the air purification cycle is vertically carried out from bottom to top. Said apparatus is characterized in that an insulating sheath is placed around the absolute filter (6). Said sheath has the property of inhibiting propagation of sound waves resulting from the passage of air flow through the absolute filter and moreover inhibits the propagation of radiation generated by radioactive material particles that may be held in said absolute filter (6).
