Distributing matrices. -Relates to fount-distinguishing devices for preventing matrices of any fount but one from entering a magazine in machines having a number of adjustable magazines. The known magazine - adjusting shaft 1 bears a collar 2 into which are screwed studs 3, 4, 5, one for each magazine, the studs acting through a lever 10 on a pin 12 which carries the fount-distinguishing finger 13. By adjustment of the studs 3, 4, 5, the finger 13 can be moved so as to cause different founts to be received in a magazine. The stems of the studs have flattened faces or grooves which are engaged by fingers 7 on a spring 8 to hold the studs in adjusted position.
