Реферат: 472,033. Ships' framing. TOBIN, T. C., and REBBECK, F. E. April 8, 1937, No. 9969. [Class 113 (ii)] In engine-rooms of passenger-carrying ships which extend downwards between accommodation decks D to the bottom A, the usual vertical pillars are eliminated and the lower deck is supported by a strut X which extends to the bilge or ship's side. Alternatively, a bracket X<1> may be employed. In a modification, the deck may be supported by longitudinal brackets G extending between transverse bulkheads or the casings C which bound the upper part of the engine-room may be constructed as longitudinal girders. The transverse and longitudinal framing systems may be combined. The arrangement is primarily directed to the elimination of the transmission of engine vibration to the upper decks of a passengercarrying ship.
