[Also in Group XL (c)] A circuit for supplying an electro-luminescent device comprises an oscillator which includes a transistor. A P-N-P transistor 10 is connected to a direct current supply 13 and to the primary and feedback windings 11, 14 of a transformer 12 so as to form an oscillatory device, an electroluminescent device 17 being supplied by the secondary winding 16 of the transformer. The feedback winding 14 is connected to the base electrode of the transistor by way of a bias control resistor 15 and the base electrode may also be connected, if required, to one pole of the direct current supply by means of a resistor 18. By a suitable choice of component values the circuit may function as any known type of oscillator, over a frequency range of 50-5000 c.p.s.
