Slow curing adhesives for bonding laminated signs - to facilitate partial removal of top layers of e.g. vehicle number plates

Реферат: Signs such as vehicle number plates made by laminating >=2 sheets of contrasting colour from which part of the upper layer is removed to expose the lower are laminated using adhesives having a low initial bonding strength which develops a stronger bond after an interval sufficient for shaping/cutting/peeling the removeable parts of the design. Esp. suitable for mfr. of vehicle registration plates without requiring sophisticated tool sor skilled labour. Pref. the adhesive is based on an acrylic resin containing small quantities (1%) of crosslinking agents such as isocyanates, epoxides, melamine or urea. The initial alignment of the superimposed layers may be located by ancillary adhesive flaps or double aided adhesive panels of modest bond strength.
