Cigar-cutters; cleaners for tobacco pipes.- A cigar-cutter or pipe-cleaner comprises an open barrel-like, handle adapted to fit slidably on a pencil, and having at one or both ends an extension forming a knife-blade arranged to lie, along or extend beyond the pencil as required, a tang being struck out of the handle to serve as a pocket-clip. The appliance is formed from a thin strip of steel, and as shown consists of a blade a sharpened on both edges, and a wider portion b bent to clip on to a round or hexagonal pencil and formed with a number of cut-away portions to form spring fingers. A tang e is pressed up from the part b for retaining the pencil in the pocket. The undersurfaces of the sharpened edges are arranged to lie in the same plane. The back of the blade may be roughened to serve as a file, and the end of the blade may be shaped to act as a button-hook, piercer, screw-driver, toothpick or other implement.
