Improvements in Weft Feelers for Looms for Weaving.
Реферат: 21,993. Weber, W. Oct. 17. Loom weft-replenishing mechanism; stop-motions.-A weft-feeler arrangement comprises two parallel fingers 5 mounted on a slide 2 on the breast beam. The slide 2 carries a pivoted finger 9 arranged between the fingers 5. The end of the finger 9 is serrated and does not extend so far rearwards as the ends of the fingers 5 by about the thickness of the weft thread. When there is more than one winding of thread on the bobbin, the fingers 5 pierce the bobbin, during the beat-up, sufficiently to cause the finger 9 to grip the thread ; but when the weft is almost exhausted, the finger 9 is turned on its pivot by a spring 8. The tail of the finger 9 then presses back an arm 13, on a shaft 12, as the spring- controlled slide 2 is pressed back during the beatup. The spring-controlled shaft 12 is thus turned, and a cam 14 on its end allows a tongue 18 to fall into the path of the weft hammer 21, which causes either the loom to stop or the bobbin or shuttle to be automatically changed. A stop 11 prevents rotation of the finger 9 when the weft-feeler is not in contact with the bobbin, and a stop 22 limits the rotation of the shaft 12.
