Реферат: 14,019. Darbishire, C. H. July 2. Hammers, power.-In a drop hammer the head 1 carrying the tool 2 and working in a guide 4 is connected by a stud 11 with a belt or rope 7. The belt normally passes loosely over a driven pulley 8 and a movable pulley 10, or it may pass round two fixed pulleys and over a movable jockey pulley. Pressure on a foot-lever 12 causes the belt to engage the pulley 8, and the hammer head is raised, falling when the pressure is relieved. Overrunning is prevented by the engagement of a stud 11 with a catch 17 on a rod 16 coupled to the foot-lever. V-grooves may be provided in the anvil 3 to protect the tool. A rod 19 connected to the hammer head passes through the end of a spring beam 20, which stops the downward movement of the hammer head. The Provisional Specification states that the positions of the tool and anvil may be interchanged, and adjustable stops on the rod 19 may engage fixed stops to limit the descent of the hammer head.
