NICKEL-M-ALUMINA XEROGEL CATALYST, METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME, AND METHOD FOR PREPARING METHANE USING THE CATALYST

The present invention relates to a nickel-M-alumina hybrid xerogel catalyst for preparing methane, where M is one or more element selected from a group consisting of Fe, Co, Ni, Ce, La, Mo, Cs, Y and Mg. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing the catalyst and to a method for preparing methane using the catalyst. The catalyst has strong resistance against high-temperature sintering reactions and the deposition of carbon species, and may effectively improve the conversion ratio of carbon monoxide and methane selectivity.
