CONSTITUTION: A discharge valve assembly 100 comprises a valve stop 120 and a valve element 140. Oil through channels formed by grooves 154 are arranged on a portion contacting the valve element 140 of the valve stop 120. Thereby oil flows between the valve element 140 and the valve stop 120. As it is possible to prevent oil from depositing between the valve element 140 and the valve stop 120, response of the valve element 140 is raised.

At least one anti-rotation assembly is provided for preventing relative rotation between the orbiting and stationary scroll elements. The anti-rotation assembly, which includes a first rotational bearing component mounted on the interior of the housing, a second rotational bearing component mounted on the orbiting scroll element and an offset crank member interconnecting the first and second rotational bearing components, is lubricated via a lubrication channel. The lubrication channel extends from a lubrication port disposed on the exterior of the housing, through the first rotational bearing component, thereafter through a channel provided in the offset crank member, thus allowing the lubricating agent (e. g., grease) to reach the second rotational bearing component. The provided anti-rotation assembly can thus be periodically lubricated without significant contact between the lubricating agent and the gas being compressed (e. g., air or refrigerant). Accordingly, any possible contamination of the exiting compressed gas is significantly reduced.

At least one, and preferably both, of the rotational bearing components are designed such that they include a bearing surface which projects a nonzero component in the direction of the central axes of the stationary and orbiting scroll elements. At least one, and preferably both, of the rotational bearing components are of the angular contact bearing type.

Oiless rotary scroll air compressor axial loading support for orbiting member

An axial load resistant anti-rotation bearing for a rotary scroll compressor is disclosed. The rotary scroll compressor includes stationary and orbiting scroll elements and a drive mechanism for driving the orbiting scroll element in an orbit about the stationary scroll element. The stationary and orbiting scroll elements are intermeshed and nested to form at least one spiraling compression pocket therebetween. The at least one compression pocket generates forces which tend to force the stationary and orbiting scroll elements apart in a direction parallel to their central axes. The axial load resistant anti-rotation bearing disclosed resists such axial separating forces and employs two rotational bearing components, a first rotational bearing component mounted on the interior of the compressor housing and a second rotational bearing component mounted on the orbiting scroll element. At least one, and preferably both, of the rotational bearing components are designed such they include a bearing surface which projects a nonzero component in the direction of the central axes of the stationary and orbiting scroll elements. At least one, and preferably both, of the rotational bearing components are of the angular contact bearing type.

The present invention discloses a reliable rotation preventing/thrust bearing device for use in an orbiting member fluid displacement apparatus. The rotation preventing/thrust bearing device includes a discrete fixed portion, a discrete orbital portion, and bearing elements. The fixed portion includes a first annular race and a first ring, both of which are formed separately. The first annular race is placed in a loose fit surrounding a first annular step in an inner surface of the housing and the first ring is attached to the housing. The orbital portion includes a second annular race and a second ring, both of which are formed separately. The second annular race is placed in a loose fit surrounding a second annular step in an end plate of the orbiting member and the second ring is attached to the end plate of the orbiting member. A plurality of pockets of the rings face one another in generally aligned pairs. A bearing element is received in each aligned pair of pockets to prevent the rotation of the orbiting member by the bearing elements interacting with the first and second rings and to carry the axial thrust load from the orbiting member. The first and second annular anti-wear plates are overlaid surrounding the first and second annular races, respectively. The first and second annular anti-wear plates are fixedly placed within the first and second annular steps respectively in order to prevent the circumferential and radial movement thereof.
