Реферат: Coloured paper fast to water is made by applying to surface-coloured paper an aqueous solution of deacetylated chitin or deacetylated chondroitin or a salt thereof, which may be prepared as described in Specification 458,839. The paper may be tissue, cr<\>epe, wrapping, absorbent, news-print, printing or writing paper, or cardboard or paperboard. The dyes used may be acid, basic or direct dyes, e.g. Crocein scarlet, Brilliant crocein, Metanil yellow, Fast acid blue, Acid violet, Acid green, Pontacyl blue black SX, Orange II, Tartrazine, Pontamine, Sky blue BX, Pontamine fast scarlet 4BS and Stilbane yellow. The dye may be applied by immersion or on a calender. The coating is insolubilized by heating or by treatment with reactants such as formaldehyde, glyoxal, acid anhydrides, or acid chlorides.
