Multi-tool machine for moulding expanded polystyrene - using induction heating in magnetic moulds for high thermal efficiency
Реферат: Multiple mould machine is for moulding expanded polystyrene or similar materials, by using moulds made of non-magnetisable metal or alloy and employing microwave induction to heat the moulding material within the mould. The beads of moulding material may be pretreated with moisture of precoated with a paraffin to enhance the rate of heat up. The number of replicate moulds would be sufficient for other phases of the moulding cycle, viz. mould filling, mould vibration, setting, cooling and ejection, to be concurrent with whichever is the longest single phase. Machine avoids energy waste associated with processes which repeatedly heat and cool the relatively large mass of a metal mould as well as the moulding material. No ancillary steam injection, steam heating or cooling water circulation systems are involved. Machine produces mouldings with minimum unit moulding cycle times, e.g., about 10 secs. per unit for mouldings weighing about 200 g.
