[Class 143.] Relates to a weighing - scale of the kind wherein a main beam 8 within a base casing 2 supports the crosses or supporting-members of the goods and weights pans, and check arms 12 extend from the crosses to check links 18, 18a at the top of a standard 2a, and is characterized in that the crosses pass below the knife-edge pivots of the main lever in the manner shown at 6, 7. The upper ends of the check arms 12 are connected to the check links by detachable portions 15, 16 so that the vertical portions of the check arms may be drawn downwards through the standard when removal is desired. The detachable portion 15 carries an upright member 19 with an indicator 20 bearing the words " Thank you" which rise into view when the goods pan falls and indicate that the goods thereon are of the weight desired. The base casing 2 is supported on four feet 13, 14, the feet 14 being secured to the opposite ends of a lever 14b fulcrumed on the base. The feet 14 are thus self-adjusting, the scale being in effect mounted on three points, viz. the two feet 13 and the fulcrum of the lever 14b. A weight platform 22 is arranged adjacent the weights pan 3.
