Weft-replenishing mechanism.-The weft ends, after having been cut by the usual clamping and cutting device C, are swept forwards and removed out of the way, to prevent them from being woven into the cloth, by means of an intermittently-rotated brush 2, which is situated between the device C and the edge of the cloth, and co-operates with a fixed part comprising the rearwardly-extended head e<1> of the usual stationary arm E. The brush 2, mounted on a stud 3 between the ears 4 of a stand 5 on the breast beam, is provided with a circular ratchetwheel 6, which is engaged by a pawl 7 on a spring-controlled arm 8 driven by a lever 13 and link 15 from the usual stud 30 on the shuttle feeler Y, so that, when this feeler swings rearwards to position the device C to cut the old weft end, the pawl slips behind a tooth of the ratchet-wheel. When the feeler moves forwards, the cut weft end is drawn over the support e<1> into position to be engaged by the brush, which is rotated in the direction of the arrow 60 by the pawl, so that the weft end, after having been cut by the usual temple-cutter, is moved forwards along the support e<1> out of the way. As usual, the shuttle feeler Y has a lateral as well as a rocking movement on its stud. The link 15 is mounted loosely on the pin 30 to allow of this movement, and is guided by a guide 17. A spring acting on the side of the brush prevents undue freedom of movement thereof. The cut weft ends finally drop off the front end of the support e'.
