The times to effect the read out of transducers, (not shown), are set into scan registers ST 1-3 and the phased relationships between control loops 1-3 into phase registers PR1-PR3. The phase number for a control loop is added to, or has subtracted from it, the count in the counter CT by a combining device MC in dependence on the direction of the count cycle. The resultant is divided by the scan number in a divider DV. The remainder is checked by a unit RC which provides a loop relection signal in response to an integer quotient. A multiplexer MP1 sequentially connects phase and scan number registers to units MC, DV in response to a signal from a sequencer SQ, actuated through a diode D1 by a signal from the generator 1G. The selection signal closes contacts 1L3- 3L3 in the multiplexer to connect thermocouples of control loops to a digital computer, or connect set-point information, or connect storage devices for corrective signals to be applied to power regulators of bushings of a glass-fibre processing plant.
