Improvements in Photographic Apparatus.
Реферат: 7295. Motti, C. March 26. Plate and like boxes; change-boxes; dark slides. -Relates to apparatus for changing plates in a photographic camera. Plate-boxes are furnished with equidistant ribs, forming guide-grooves for the plates, and a cover provided with a tab for withdrawal and a flap of gummed cloth or paper, slides into grooves on the box. The magazine i, shown, together with the plate-receiving piston of the camera, in section in Fig. 9, consists of a casing into which the plate-box fits. Two spring blades f hold the plate-box in contact with the wall k of the magazine, the bottom of which is pierced with a hole m. Guides n are provided for a flexible shutter o which forms a cut-off shutter for the filled magazine. The rear lath of the blind o is provided with an edge portion s forming a hooked catch for a beak t, secured to an edge of the camera. Brackets u attached to the magazine support the camera when attached to the blind o. A gauge r is furnished with pointers b which move opposite to graduations on the guides n (Fig. 6), the distances apart of these graduations corresponding to the pitch of the grooves in the plate-box. The gauge may be engaged by a catch in positions at which one or more of the plate-grooves is uncovered by the blind. The walls of dark slide 12 has grooves 13 to receive a plate for exposure. A.register plate 15 normally closes a slot 14 in the base of the camera and is kept in position by springs 16. A box of plates being in place in the magazine, a metal bar 9, covered with velvet 10 is placed over the box cover with its end under the brackets u. The blind o is then raised so that it covers the magazine and the plate-box cover is withdrawn by means of the tab, a light-tight joint being then formed by the velvet 10 bearing on the velvet 8. The beak t of the dark slide is then engaged with the beak s of the blind o. To pass a plate into the camera when the magazine is in position, the gauge r is latched in the desired position, and the magazine is pushed relatively to the blind till the edge of the blind 7 abuts against the gauge r. The slot 14 is uncovered by moving the register plate by pressing on the buttons 17, and the guides 13 being opposite the required groove of the platebox, the plate may be passed from the plate-box to the chamber 12 by inverting the apparatus, and is retained in position by the register plate 15, on releasing the buttons 17. Similarly the plate may be transferred from the camera to the plate-box. When all the plates are exposed, the magazine is detached from the dark slide, which necessitates the closing of the blind o. The cover is passed between the velvet strips 8, 10, the magazine is uncovered by pushing back the blind o, and the bar 9 is withdrawn, and the plate-box may then be removed and a new'one substituted.
