Gas and like engines.- Relates to apparatus which is particularly applicable as a cooler for motor vehicles propelled by explosion engines, but may also be employed tor condensing or heating purposes. Fig. 1. shows the application to the known type of construction, which is built up from flat corrugated water conduits, Figs. 2, 3, and 4 being cross-sections on the lines 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, respectively. The water passages are formed from corrugated plates A, B, each having one plane and one booked margin, so that the plates interlock on sliding them together in the direction of the length of the corrugations. In shaping the plates, the books are formed first, spacing strips of the same thickness as the plates being placed within them during corrugation. A modification is also described in which tubes corrugated zig-zag fashion are employed. In applying the invention to honeycomb radiators, hooks as shown in Fig. 7, are formed on one end of each tube, the other end being left plain to engage hooks on the adjacent tubes. The joints in each case are completed by soldering.
